On being totally honest and child like

Tuesday, March 27, 2007

SweetPerceptions says:

On being totally honest

I always thought that 'old' couples miss out each other's company because either they aren't totally honest or they lost the child that they have within themselves.

Yesterday, I thought I'd space out and simply crumble to pieces just by telling the truth.. But this is only a thought.  It's really a shame to be totally honest, but kinda liberating in the end.  It can be a pet peeve that you're trying to let go, or simply letting out a rant; but the simple yet difficult way of telling the truth can be the only way out.

I think that everyone who engages in a relationship must learn to be totally honest, and also take the other's complete honesty.  It must always be 'egoless', otherwise, you both will never grow.  And so, I am thankful to hear my partner's rants and learn from them, much as he is always willing to do the same thing.

It's really a petty thing to take note of, but in order to grant me peace of mind, I had to spill it out.  It's always unhealthy to keep secrets, stuffs that could really bother you to death.  I am not sorry about it, I guess that is human nature, I only have to tell.  Things that hurt the most, must never be kept secret.  If one needs help, then ask for it.  No one can help you if they don't know it.  And, I believe, we must never assume anything, more importantly if its about your partner.  A false assumption is also a killer.  It can kill you if you thought wrong, or kill your partner because he was judged.  So, the simple way of dealing with these stuffs is just to be honest..

On being child like

Somehow, it is also great that he enjoys being playful as much as I am playful.  I enjoy the times that we can be child like and simply have fun without the expense of ruining our reputation (as serious persons, moreso, managers of our company).  I simply love the times that I can be simply me, and still have him love my child like nature.

Get to play sometimes.  It doesn't hurt to be simple minded at times, and it can relieve stress.  :)

Deyey says:

On being totally honest

The best thing a couple can have, besides love of course, is honesty. Partners need to be honest with each other so that "trust" will follow soon after. The more you are honest to your loved one, the more he or she will trust you in letting you know his or her ideas and feelings.

An honest relationship is a healthy relationship. Even though you may hurt your partner with your full honesty, at least your partner knows what's bugging you, or what's keeping you smiling.

However, since we're all humans, there will come times wherein one would lie, either inadvertently or purposely. Inadvertently if the partner didn't have any knowledge that he or she actually lied (yes there are cases like these). Purposely if the partner has full knowledge of the truth and how he or she will bend it.

Even if it's a "white lie", it would still be a lot better to tell your partner the truth, though you know that it might hurt him or her. That's how it is with reality. It's a lot like an vaccine… you'll get hurt a bit but it's gonna do you good once you get it.

As for me, I've already failed slightly with honesty so I have to pay the price of regaining my partner's trust. Yet, I still believe that love would get me through this… and an honest love is all I'm willing to give to my "Honey".

On being child-like

This is the best feeling in the world! One should always learn when to be serious and when to be child-like. As for me and my partner, we can balance our moods depending on the situation. I really love it when we do "kiddie" things together… just for the fun of it.

We don't want to let go of that feeling wherein you don't have a care in the world, regardless of the consequence (one time, in band camp, my honey urged me to "get lost" with her in our trip to Dau…). It's really a healthy thing to "de-stress" once in a while by getting back to your "inner child" and never minding all the negative factors that come to your life.

As a child would say, "why would I do that when I'm happy doing this?"

Simplicity. Just like a child!

On celebrating your girlfriend’s first year at the office

Wednesday, March 21, 2007

Deyey says:

It was truly a memorable day for all of us in the office as my honey, Sweetperceptions, gave us a treat to remember. Starting from breakfast, where she gave us all some sandwiches with cheese spread in between, it went on to snacks at around 10am. She treated us to her specialty: Kaniloni pasta. By then, everyone was full.

But it didn't stop there. She bought two ultra-large jumbo super duper biggie-sized pizza for lunch. Our eyes, minds and stomach were all spinning due to the food but we kept on going.

Since I'm special for my honey, she gave me a one-of-a-kind treat. She whipped out a dish full of mushrooms made just for me. I liked this food a lot so I didn't mind if I'm becoming bloated. I just grabbed my utensils and ate the dish with my honey.

At 3pm, my honey served another food yet again! She gave each officemate ice cream in cones. Wow! By then, all we could say was "asrowr ajkjdrowr mghrowrk sfrhtgouho" (our mouths were so full we couldn't speak right).

I really loved the way my honey made her first year in the office very special. It wasn't just for her or for me. She made it a point to include everyone around her! She loves seeing the smiles of people. It makes her happy.

And that is why I love her… for just being her!

SweetPerceptions says:

It didn't matter that I was so tired (from work and from shopping for ingredients) the day before or that I woke up at around 4AM to cook and prepare all these.  All that ever mattered for me was to see everyone happy.  Not only was it technically an "all-expense-paid-full-meal-day", but it was also a day of celebrating one year with my gametel family.

Because I am more of a vegetarian (though not completely one), I was not able to eat more than a slice of the monstrous-size pizza that I bought.  It was mostly pepperoni and meat stuffs.  I was also able to bring them pasta, but I myself am not a big fan of pasta, so I also did not have at least a plate of my own masterpiece.  What I enjoyed the most was having to eat the mushroom dish I prepared for my honey, together with my honey.

Not only was I very happy that day because I made everyone else happy… I was also surprised because my honey prepared something for me.  After a long long time of seeking for this movie, he's finally found it and made me a copy.  The movie was "The Brave Little Toaster".  I loved it since I was a kid, but has never ever found a copy of that movie soon after the legendary "Betamax" has already disappeared.   My honey even asked some colleagues of ours to help him out with his scheme.  Thanks to Bong and to Joe for helping out make this surprise worth remembering.

I love this day.  I shall never forget 20 March 2007.. more so, it can never come to this if not for 20 March 2006.. and so I love this day too.. :)

On Having Your Girlfriend / Boyfriend as a Seatmate

Wednesday, March 14, 2007

Deyey says:

Isn't it a wonderful thing having the one you love right beside you while you work or study? It gives inspiration, relaxation and perspiration… depending on the situation.

I really love it when she suddenly hugs me while I'm in the middle of work (?). She would also just grab my arm and make me accompany her somewhere (usually to eat, which we both love doing).

This is such a great feeling… nothing beats this shizzle (mah dizzle). As long as we're both in one room and one office, we'll make the best out of it and not worry of other things.

We just love each other so much!

Yeah!!!

SweetPerceptions says:

Isn't it great?!

Life is not at all bad, whatever happens, as long as you have the one you love beside you.  I could rant on anything and everything at all, but when I look to my left, I'd be happy all of a sudden.  Just the sight of the smile you always love to see could make your day as good as it should be!

I love it!  I love the feeling of waking up every morning just to go to the office.  Not that I'm such a workaholic, but its a great opportunity to be with your boyfriend at the convenience of just being in the office you also work in.  Nothing would beat a merienda time with him, the times we spend laughing while climbing up and down the stairs (which is a habit we've developed–mind you, its for a common goal–EXERCISE!).

I just love it that way.  Love within your reach is a very perfect scenario to be in.
